Acknowledging Our Past And Charting The Future
Celebrated since 1865 and observed as a Federal Holiday since 2021, Juneteenth commemorates the date when some of the last enslaved people in the Confederacy were notified of their freedom following the Civil War.
Juneteenth Celebrations connect and strengthen communities with an emphasis on education, conversation, acknowledgement of our nation’s history, and the hope of building a better future together.
Kensington’s Juneteenth Celebration, a family friendly event with activities for all ages, will bring together a multiracial coalition of organizers, historians, re-enactors, civic and faith leaders, local and Black-owned businesses, musicians, and supporters to proudly mark Juneteenth.
Join us at the Fourth Annual Kensington Juneteenth Celebration at St. Paul Park on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 from 12-4pm! Find more information, vendor and performer line-up, activities, and more here.
